Pictures of Fallen Tree from October Snowstorm

We're not much for dwelling on unpleasant events of the past, but can we take a moment to appreciate this? A freak, heavy snowstorm, in October, while there are still leaves on all the trees... Take a look at this poor tree of ours. It was a beautiful old black locust. And did it just fall? No, of course not! Instead, it split in THREE directions, like a flower, affecting every single one of our directly abutting neighbors. Our neighbors to the rear said they heard a really loud crack when the tree fell...

The shed ("coop") took the brunt of it.

Thankfully, the damage to the brand new
roof we installed was minimal. We
had to replace just a few shingles.

Whoa

You can see here how the tree split like a
flower. One trunk fell to the left, one
trunk fell to the right, and one
remained standing upright. Crazy.

The most difficult task we had was to
carefully remove this fallen trunk
 without causing additional damage.

This is the trunk that fell toward
one next door neighbor's house...
and hit their shed.

And this is the trunk that fell
on our house (shown above from
the rear of the home) and onto
the driveway and electrical lines
of our other next door neighbor.
